New Rust Commands for Server Management: entcount and authcount

Enhance Your Server Management with Facepunch’s Latest Commands

Facepunch Studios, the developers behind the popular survival game Rust, have recently introduced two new console commands to improve server management. These commands, “entcount” and “authcount,” provide server owners with valuable information about the entities placed and access permissions of specific players. Let’s dive into the details of these commands and how they can benefit server management.

entcount Command: The “entcount” command allows server owners to retrieve the number of entities placed by a specific player. This can be particularly useful for monitoring and managing server performance, as too many entities can lead to server lag or instability. To use the “entcount” command, simply type the following in the console:

entcount "Player Name or SteamID"

Replace “Player Name or SteamID” with the player’s in-game name or their SteamID. The command will then return the total number of entities placed by that player.

authcount Command: The “authcount” command provides server owners with information on the Tool Cupboards (TCs) and locks that a given player is authorized to access. This can be helpful for identifying potential rule-breakers or tracking players’ bases and belongings. To use the “authcount” command, enter the following in the console:

authcount "Player Name or SteamID"

Replace “Player Name or SteamID” with the player’s in-game name or their SteamID. The command will then return the total number of TCs and locks that the player is authorized to access.

These two new commands, “entcount” and “authcount,” are valuable tools for server owners looking to manage and monitor their Rust servers more effectively. Be sure to keep an eye on Facepunch’s official blog for future updates and additions to the Rust server management toolkit.
