The location can be anywhere on the entire map, generally at least 100 meters inland from the beach, and will always be alongside the road.

Loot Breakdown

Various types of loot spawn in and around the structures of the Mining Outpost. Here’s a breakdown of what you might find:

  1. Crates:
    • Multiple crates can spawn inside the metal shack and against the walls or shelves of buildings. These crates can contain a variety of items useful for survival. The majority of the loot at this monument will be brown (normal) crates and basic crates since it is a starter monument.
  2. Car Parts:
    • Look for car part spawns on pallets and near certain structures like the forklift and tires.
  3. Green Crate Chance:
    • Depending on the location of the Mining Outpost you will find that green crates will occasionally spawn at a higher chance when the mining outpost is further away from your original spawn. Rust maps are split into 3 sections, tier0 (this is the third section where players spawn), tier1, and tier2 (this is where launch site always generates at). If the mining outpost is in the tier 1 or tier2 it’s chance of spawning with green crates are slightly higher. These values are still randomized so don’t always expect a green crate if you find a mining outpost near the same area launch site or military tunnels area.

Utilities of this monument

The Mining Outpost comes with a couple of handy utilities:

  1. Recycler:
    • Giving the ability to recycle is a quick invite to any and all types of players, be careful when approaching this monument as most often the recycler is the largest reason a player may be there!
  2. Repair Bench:
    • A repair bench is available for an added utility to this monument
  3. Light Switches:
    • Two light switches are present to toggle the lights on or off, providing a small measure of control over visibility, especially during the very very dark night-time.

Roof Access

There are 2 main ways to access the roof:

  1. Jumping on Tires:
    • Tires stacked beside the warehouse on both sides can be used as ‘steps’ to reach the roof.
  2. Shed Climb:
    • Jumping on the pallets next to the shed allows you to jump-crouch yourself on top of the shed under the warehouse. At that point you can jump through a hole in the roof to get roof access for another vantage point.

Tactical Tips

  1. Approach with caution:
    • Freely running in may be an option, but this is a very contested monument, especially early into a wipe. Be mindful when getting close in case there are less than nice players at it. If you hear a soft “humming” sound it’s likely that the recycler is being actively used.
  2. Recycle Safely:
    • Utilize the small protective areas to hide from potential nearby enemies while you’re recycling.
    • The recycler is lootable from the outside of the window if you jump and open it through the hole in the window correctly.
  3. Roof Control:
    • Understanding and utilizing the roof access will help switch up your potential enemy from getting attacked at an angle they weren’t expecting.
