Make your vehicles run on anything: item durability, electricity from batteries, water from jug/bottles, Low Grade from Miner’s Hat… or any item that exists in Rust. You can even make it so that some (or all) types of vehicles don’t need any fuel at all! Features a fully fledged admin GUI for managing different fuels and how specific vehicles handle their usage, as well as a comprehensive permission system. Add/remove fuel types at a whim. You decide how efficient each type of fuel is and which permissions are needed for players to use certain types of fuels. Also introduces optional Power Counters serving as digital fuel gauges, mounted on vehicles in driver’s view, and a player GUI showing all types of fuels they can use when they open a vehicle’s fuel tank.

Have a look at this short video to see what it’s all about.

MAIN FEATURES

Comes with 20 new fuels out of the box. Enable/disable them and remove/add your own.

You no longer have to rely on Low Grade! The plugin comes bundled with the following items as alternatives (some of them disabled by default):

Crude Oil, Diesel Fuel, Horse Dung, Sulfur, Gunpowder, Fertilizer, all 3 Rechargeable Batteries, Water Bottle, Bota Bag, Water Jug, Diving Tank, Jackhammer, Torch, Miner’s Hat, Candle Hat, Tuna Lamp, Lantern.

Every one of those fuels can be enabled, disabled, removed, or you can quickly add another fuel. Sky’s the limit! Don’t worry letting your players know what fuels are available – when they open a vehicle’s fuel tank, you will be able to display up to 24 available fuel items in a well-integrated, vanilla-like player GUI. This player GUI is completely optional, too!

5 modes of fuel consumption from the tank.

  • Item: Just like normal Low Grade fuel – it will consume a given amount of a the stack of an Item the tank. Most extra fuels this plugin comes with use this setting
  • Condition: Just like damaging a tool or taking air from a Diving Tank. Any item that has condition will work, including tools, clothes and the like.
  • Data: Some items have a numerical value associated with them – in case of batteries, it’s the number of Rust Watt seconds of charge left. This setting can “consume” from that value. Finally, electric vehicles!
  • Contents: similar to Item, but one level deeper: it uses the Item’s container contents, like Water from a bottle or Low Grade from a Miner’s Hat that are in the fuel tank.
  • Unlimited: as long as a particular item is in the fuel tank, it will make the vehicle run, but the fuel itself won’t get damaged/consumed. Useful as an admin fuel for debug/testing.

Completely customisable fuel consumption rates.

For every fuel, you can define, both globally and per-vehicle, how efficient the fuel is (how much of its health/data/contents/amount is consumed per fuel check cycle, and the frequency of that cycle) compared to normal Low Grade. You running a 1000x server? Why not make the fuel usage for all vehicles 1000x too, to curb that nasty air traffic? Or maybe you want to reduce the consumption for modular cars to encourage their use? Every fuel type has two multipliers associated with them (again, both globally and per-vehicle): how much of the item (or electricity, or condition, or whatever) is consumed, and how often it is consumed, both values compared to Low Grade values, which are 1 and 1.000 by default, respectively. You’re free to tinker with those and see how it affects the fuel consumption in real time!

Mount optional Power Counters in driver’s sight as digital fuel gauges.

No longer will the players have to perform dangerous body contortions while piloting a Minicopter, just to check the fuel tank. And don’t even get me started on Modular Cars, you no longer have to pull over and get out! The counters will display the amount of fuel left as a percentage, based on what type of fuel item it is and the consumption mode of that fuel type (so the fuel item’s amount, condition, electric charge or container content’s left, out of max).

You can enable/disable the counters for all types of vehicles or just some.

99% of the text displayed in the plugin can be adjusted (although most of it is just for the admin GUI). Just edit the oxide/lang/en/FuelManager.json file to your liking after loading the plugin in!

Extensive permission system – decide who can run which vehicle on what fuel.

The plugin comes with 10 placeholder fuel usage permissions. You can tie them to different VIP packages, so you can allow some players only to use premium fuels! Or you can use your own permissions, it’s up to you.

Everything configurable through a cutting-edge, dynamic GUI, not chat commands.

No verbose chat commands. No more editing JSON files by hand, and then pulling your hair out trying to debug it. Just type /fm_gui in the chat and you will have every possible setting you might want to adjust in front of you. Settings are categories in tabs, so you always know what type of vehicle (or global) setting you’re editing. It’s extremely easy to quickly add, remove and edit fuels and their properties as well as adjusting permissions needed. Did you accidentally remove something you weren’t meant to remove? No worries, just press one button to restore all settings to default.

Fuel Manager Fuel

EULA

I’m not going to speak legalese here. It’s going to be short and to the point. By purchasing Fuel Manager you hereby agree to these conditions:

  • If something goes wrong with your server (not that it will!) while using this plugin, you will not hold Nikedemos responsible. You use the plugin at your own risk. Always make sure you make backup copies before experimenting with anything.
  • You are granted a license to use the plugin on up to 6 servers at time. You have to be the owner or co-owner of those servers. This license will never expire. When the plugin gets updated, every license owner is entitled to an update.
  • You will not distribute this plugin in any shape or form – not on forums, social media, not to your friends, not to other server owners nor other plugin developers. Making plugins takes time and effort and I really appreciate respecting plugin developers by not stealing their work. The only way to legally own and use Fuel Manager on a server you own is to purchase a license. If you’re not a permanent co-owner on a particular server (that has been participating in the server costs/revenue), you can’t deploy the plugin there, even if you’re friends with the owner. They have to purchase a separate license.

PLANNED FEATURES

  • Hooks and API methods for plugin developers (let me know what you might need, if it makes sense, I’ll add a method/hook for it!)
  • More permissions
  • More global and per-vehicle settings
  • Adjustable mounting positions of Power Counters on vehicles

Nikedemos does it again. This is a lot of fun, and you can literally make the vehicles run on anything. Imagine minicopters that run on blood, can do it. Electric vehicles? Yup. Run the boats on Crude? Sure. Have snowmobiles that run on compressed air? You bet. Well done, this is well worth the price.

    • I notice that when opening the tank, it show all the items, even the ones that players don’t have permission to use. It would be nice to only show the items that players have permission for so they don’t think they can use everything listed.

Plugin FAQ – How do I use this .zip/.7z file I just purchased on my server?

• First, you want to unzip the file. You can do so by just double-clicking it to open, then drag the contents to the desired location (you may need to install an external unzipping software if you don’t already have one such as 7zip or winrar)
• Next you will find either a structure of folders or just the .cs file itself (it’s the actual plugin file itself).
• After that just install the .cs (plugin file) into your …/oxide/plugins/ folder where you will install plugins you ever need to.

Additionally, here’s a great video that easily covers adding a plugin to your server if you need! https://youtu.be/yWC_p97FhQA

• Installation is not included with any products on the site, however, if needed we may assist if you reach out to our support.

Currently all products on Lone.Design will be contained within a zipped file which is the .7z or .zip that you see. I believe windows 10 and up can unzip on its own without 3rd party tools, but in that case, if you’re unfamiliar with zipped files here are 2 programs I recommend to easily unzip zipped files.

Zipping/Unzipping Tools
Winrar https://www.rarlab.com (I used to use for years, but works great!)
7zip https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z2107-x64.exe (the one I use currently)
