Location along the coastline on a Rust map is where the Ferry Terminal is at.

Ferry Terminal Monument Guide For Rust – Future Uses, Loot, & More

Every monument in Rust serves its fair purpose, whether it’s Mining Outpost to quickly loot and recycle, or Sewer Branch to progress to the blue card stage, every place holds a purpose and is strategically designed and built by the developer at Facepunch. The Ferry Terminal is no different, it holds a fair amount of loot, will introduce a brand new mechanic to the game, and is along the coast which is easier for some to visit! Let’s dive in to see what this waterside monument has to offer.

Overview Of The Ferry Terminal Monument

Let’s start with a very important detail, the Ferry Terminal is still pending a large machanic that Facepunch has not implemented yet which is referred to as “Nexus”. Nexus as interpreted from what we’ve been told will be a multi-server system that will allow server owners to inner-connect their servers straight from the Ferry Terminal monument, allowing you to travel from one server to another from a ferry ride. The details on what gear can be brought over (if any) are all still pending. The only thing we know currently is that the Nexus system will be used in a later update to connect multiple servers together to bring an entirely different machine to the game that no other monument even comes close to comparing to.

Location

As expected, the Ferry Terminal will be located strictly at the coastal edge of any given map and will be indicated accordingly on your in-game map if you press the default key, “G”. It should be connected to the primary road network, as well as the underground train system.

Requirements

Since this monument has no radiation no scientists and no puzzle you can freely enter this monument currently without any items to start gathering!

The Ferry Terminal has a slightly larger footprint than the roadside monuments, not quite large, but definitely medium-sized so there’s a lot to explore, however, we’ll feature the key areas below to maximize your efficiency while exploring it!

Loot Breakdown

As a tier one monument, there’s a fair amount of starter loot at this monument if not already looted by another player.

  • Barrels: Around a dozen or more total barrels around various parts of the monument.
  • Oil Barrels: 6+ Crude oil barrels spread around however 3 are located at the recycler.
  • Crates: Both brown and even green crates (as a lower chance) spawn at this monument

Utilities

  • Phone Booth: Located inside of the main ferry terminal building room.
  • Recycler: Located in the outdoor mid-section of the monument.
  • Research Table: Located in the hallway inside of the main ferry terminal building towards the train tunnel system entrance.
  • Repair Table: Located in the open yellow shipping container in the parking area.

Tips & Tricks

This monument does include some very interesting places you should certainly be mindful of the next time you visit as it may just give you a 1-up in case you’re getting attacked, or even just aware so you know to check these areas while exploring. We also suggest watching Albert The Scientist’s quick video of the monument as well if you prefer a video!

Camping/Hiding Locations

Don’t be the guy that does the camping excessively, however, be the guy that is aware of them so you have the upper hand if another player happens to think they’re going to win the fight.

Other Information

Not entirely worthy of including in the main navigational/tips captions but there were a few interesting things or spots with the Ferry Terminal as shown below:
