Description

Never build the same thing twice again!

Tired of repeated work, building the same stuff over and over again? This admin tool will be your second best friend forever!

With the Modular Building Tool you can place any structure (building part) right where you want it. All copied building parts will end up in de button editor (the pencil icon) and can be assigned to a position on one of the 9 tabs in the UI. Clicking right mouse button will open the UI. Select a building part and fire the tool at the building block you want to paste it on. Simple as that!

Steps to add your own parts

1. Copy any structure in game  and assign the file (building part) to a button in the UI.

Copy building parts

Copying new building parts can be a bit tricky at first. The direction of the floor / foundations (those 2 are recommended to use as start- and end blocks) is important to keep in mind.
When pasting a part, the direction of the block you aim for will be used to position all other entities of the building part. The direction of all entities inside a part is based on the part you look at while copying the part.
My advise is to always make sure you are copying ‘forward’ going blocks (floors/foundations). If you connect a block with it’s back to another block, the empty side of the block is the forward. In this image I just placed the upper foundation. Now I’m sure the side at the end of the arrow is the ‘front’ of the block.

Modular Building

If there’s more than one surrounding foundations/floors, make sure to really aim for the block you want to connect you new block to. In the image below, the new foundation’s front side will be on top of this image.

Here’s another example, the green arrows show the ‘directions’ of the building blocks. In the second image the same structure is pasted on the twig foundation:

Example building parts – Race Track

In the download I included the basic parts I used for creating the race tracks. Simply copy them over to /oxide/data/copypaste/modular_building/ and use command /mb updatedata to start using these example parts. These track parts are made with crazy precision, they all follow a 5×5 grid which results in perfectly fitting race tracks. Hit me up on Discord if you’re interested in some more, less perfect race track parts.

  1. Looks fantastic, can you copy the contents of the builds, such as beds, cupboards etc
and can you paste above, as in if you built a U shape room with stairs at one end, could you paste one above, like stacking boxes?

Plugin FAQ – How do I use this .zip/.7z file I just purchased on my server?

• First, you want to unzip the file. You can do so by just double-clicking it to open, then drag the contents to the desired location (you may need to install an external unzipping software if you don’t already have one such as 7zip or winrar)
• Next you will find either a structure of folders or just the .cs file itself (it’s the actual plugin file itself).
• After that just install the .cs (plugin file) into your …/oxide/plugins/ folder where you will install plugins you ever need to.

Additionally, here’s a great video that easily covers adding a plugin to your server if you need! https://youtu.be/yWC_p97FhQA

• Installation is not included with any products on the site, however, if needed we may assist if you reach out to our support.

Currently all products on Lone.Design will be contained within a zipped file which is the .7z or .zip that you see. I believe windows 10 and up can unzip on its own without 3rd party tools, but in that case, if you’re unfamiliar with zipped files here are 2 programs I recommend to easily unzip zipped files.
