Rust Building Skins, Nuclear Monument Updates, and a Jet Flyby?
Hey there, Lone.Design fam! We’re back with more exciting news about Rust’s upcoming update. With a forced wipe just around the corner, we can’t wait to see the fresh features hitting the staging branch. In addition to the previously mentioned building skins and monuments, we’ve got a thrilling new development that could be a game-changer: a jet flyby! So, let’s dive in and see what’s in store for us.
Revamping Your Rust Base: New Building Skins Incoming
As we shared earlier, Rust is getting a facelift with the introduction of new building skins. With the ‘building_skins_3‘ branch merged into the regular staging branch, players will soon be able to upgrade their bases to the Adobe building skin, replacing the stone upgrade option.
But that’s not all! Additional building skins like brick, stone blocks, and a tribalist variant could be coming our way, too. These skins are expected to replace the existing default options while retaining their original attributes. And while there’s no confirmation yet, we might see these building skins as part of a DLC soon.
The Mysterious Nuclear Missile Silo: A New Monument in Rust
We’ve already mentioned the upcoming Nuclear Missile Silo monument, which has seen numerous tweaks on the Aux2 branch. But now, we’ve got an even juicier development to discuss: a new commit by Helk!
Commit #81571: A Jet Flyby in Rust?
The latest commit by Helk on the ‘main/nuclear_missile_silo/flyby’ branch hints at the potential addition of an F-15E jet flyby in Rust. This could be a game-changing feature! While we can’t say for sure, this jet flyby could be linked to the Nuclear Missile Silo monument, possibly being used to drop a nuke.
This addition raises so many questions: Will the jet flyby be part of a server-wiping event? How will it affect gameplay? Will it be an aesthetic addition or something more? We’ll keep our ears to the ground and update you as soon as we know more.
Don’t Forget: Twitch Drops and Other Updates
As a quick reminder, the Facepunch Twitch page has announced the next round of Twitch drops, scheduled for May 16-20th. Make sure your accounts are linked and ready to go!
Also, keep an eye out for new ammo world models, potential new recycler animations, and more improvements in the upcoming Rust update.
p.s. You can also sit on all of the toilets within the Nuclear Missile Silo monument, including the one with the fish stuck in it (you’ll have to noclip for that one though)
