Hostile Timers In short
This lightweight plugin allows you to change the length of the hostile timers – the giant red text that informs you that lethal force has been authorised, when you been naughty in certain situations. A smaller timer can be seen in the top-right corner when outside of a Safe Zone. By default, Rust has 3 different timers set at: 5 minutes (when a player violates Safe Zone rules), 60 seconds (when damaging entities outside of Safe Zone) and 30 seconds (when walking into a Safe Zone while brandishing a weapon), respectively. This plugin allows you to change each of those 3 timers to whatever length you want – shorter or longer, it doesn’t matter. You can use a permission of your choice – or use the built-in one – and based on that permission, players can experience different timer durations. If you want, you can make certain players completely immune from being marked as hostile by giving them a built-in immunity permission – or if you don’t even have any Safe Zones on your map and you just want to get rid of that red counter in the top-right corner for everyone, you can completely disable players being marked as hostile. Admins can also mark and unmark players or themselves as hostile with immediate effect.
See the video below.
Features
- Change the hostile timers for players. There’s 3 of them in vanilla Rust: 5 minutes, 60 seconds and 30 seconds. Now you can make each one of them however long you want!
- Permission-based timers, you can provide your own permission or use the built-in one. Give your VIP players some slack – or on the contrary, do you want to make it extra hard for everyone? 24 hour hostility timer would sure be inhumane… wouldn’t it? ;)
- Disable hostile timers completely, if that’s what you choose. Do you have a build server, arena server or a One Grid type of map with no Safe Zones? Get rid of that unneccessary red timer in the top-right!
- As an admin, make certain players immune to being marked as hostile (good for testing)
- As an admin, unmark yourself or other players from being hostile with immediate effect
- Or mark yourself or someone else as hostile, immediately, for whatever length you want. Punishing/trolling knows no limits.
- Compatible with all plugins, including Vanish/BetterVanish!
- Lightweight and performance friendly (about 540 lines of code, less than 25 kb!)
EULA
I’m not going to speak legalese here. It’s going to be short and to the point. By purchasing Hostile Timers you hereby agree to these conditions:
- If something goes wrong with your server (not that it will!) while using this plugin, you will not hold Nikedemos responsible. You use the plugin at your own risk. Always make sure you make backup copies before experimenting with anything.
- You are granted a license to use the plugin on up to 6 servers at time. You have to be the owner or co-owner of those servers. This license will never expire. When the plugin gets updated, every license owner is entitled to an update.
- You will not distribute this plugin in any shape or form – not on forums, social media, not to your friends, not to other server owners nor other plugin developers. Making plugins takes time and effort and I really appreciate respecting plugin developers by not stealing their work. The only way to legally own and use Hostile Timers on a server you own is to purchase a license. If you’re not a permanent co-owner on a particular server (that has been participating in the server costs/revenue), you can’t deploy the plugin there, even if you’re friends with the owner. They have to purchase a separate license.

Version History
- Updated Update for the April 2024 forced wipe
- Updated Converted all chat commands to Covalence commands, meaning they can be run both from chat/F1 console and the RCON console
- Added Added new command: "himmunity [partial player name or full steam ID] [true/false]" that instantly turns the immunity on a player on/off. This can be run from chat, console and even plugins.
- Added Added 3 new Hooks that can be called by 3rd party plugins, by using HostileTimers.CallHook() (NOT through the Interface): * void PlayerMarkHostile(BasePlayer player) * void PlayerUnmarkHostile(BasePlayer player) * void PlayerSetImmunity(BasePlayer player, bool wants)
- Updated Updated the main, "long" vanilla timer length from 1800 to 300 to reflect the changes by FP this month. You can still keep using whatever lengths you want, but the number that triggered it had to be changed. Your config remains unaffected. Updated the docs.

Plugin FAQ – How do I use this .zip/.7z file I just purchased on my server?
• First, you want to unzip the file. You can do so by just double-clicking it to open, then drag the contents to the desired location (you may need to install an external unzipping software if you don’t already have one such as 7zip or winrar)
• Next you will find either a structure of folders or just the .cs file itself (it’s the actual plugin file itself).
• After that just install the .cs (plugin file) into your …/oxide/plugins/ folder where you will install plugins you ever need to.
Additionally, here’s a great video that easily covers adding a plugin to your server if you need! https://youtu.be/yWC_p97FhQA
• Installation is not included with any products on the site, however, if needed we may assist if you reach out to our support.
Currently all products on Lone.Design will be contained within a zipped file which is the .7z or .zip that you see. I believe windows 10 and up can unzip on its own without 3rd party tools, but in that case, if you’re unfamiliar with zipped files here are 2 programs I recommend to easily unzip zipped files.

Winrar https://www.rarlab.com (I used to use for years, but works great!)

One of the most useful plugins out there, for admins and players alike.
And when it comes to support, you will be satisfied, as the plugin author Nikedemos is one of the most hard working plugin creators ive ever seen so far in rust.
In my case I was using zones in safezone monuments to allow players to use am arena command to teleport into one, but on the return they would be set hostile and die to turrets, so when I post about it in here, Nikedemos contacted me and after we discussed my situation and my goal, he immediately went to work! The entire processes was painless as Nikedemos awesome personality and technical expertise was enough to reassure me that my issue would be solved in time! The next day was rusts wipe day, and Nikedemos hard work made possible for me to add and configure the plugin to my server within couple of hours after our discussion, allowing me to be ahead of my schedule dead line, not only that but the plugin worked right away without the need for further support!
The most impressive part was that Nikedemos went the extra mile and added even more abilities to the plugin to make MY life easier, how cool is that? how many times have you seen a plugin author taking care of their customer in such detailed and individual level? Usually best you can hope for is that multiple people have the same requests as you, but that is not the case with Nikedemos, as he goes beyond “good enough” because he actually cares about his customers and he is willing to take that extra step and more, in order to truly help!
If you want to manipulate hostile timers this is the plugin for you, it has literally everything you will need about it, and the customer support is basically the top!
