Features of Rust Chat

Custom Chat Commands:

  • Enable server owners to define and utilize custom commands within the in-game chat.
  • Examples include:
    • /pop: Display server population, including the number of players online and in queue.
    • /help: Provide assistance information or direct players to external resources.
  • Customizable responses can be configured through the plugin’s settings.

Group Prefix System:

  • Assign group-based prefixes such as [Staff] or [VIP] with customizable colors and display priorities.
  • Prefixes distinguish different user groups in chat, making it easy for players to identify user roles.
  • Players can toggle their prefixes on or off using dedicated chat commands for flexibility.

Tag Handling and Caching:

  • Players can enable or disable tags (e.g., group prefixes) using chat commands like /tag.
  • Caches player tag status for optimized performance and quick retrieval.
  • Configurable caching option allows server administrators to toggle this feature.

Mute Management:

  • Administrators can mute players using the /mute command with a specified duration and reason.
  • Example usage: /mute Skippy 10m Spam to mute a player for 10 minutes.
  • Mutes are time-bound and automatically expire or can be manually removed with the /unmute command.
  • Muted players are informed about their mute duration and reason through chat notifications.
  • Persistent storage of mute data ensures that mutes are retained across server restarts.
    Data Management and Persistence:

    • Player tag preferences and mute data are stored persistently using the Oxide Data File System.
    • Data is automatically loaded upon initialization and saved whenever changes occur.
    • Ensures continuity and data accuracy across server restarts.

    Configurable Options:

    • Customizable default values, including display name colors, local chat range, and group prefix settings.
    • Enable or disable specific features, such as tag caching, through simple configuration edits.
    • Customizable messages for chat responses and notifications.

    Player Notifications:

    • Notify players about important chat events, such as when they are muted or unmuted.
    • Inform players of enabled and disabled tags using chat commands.
    • Broadcast chat messages with group prefixes for better clarity and role identification.

    Localization Support:

    • Customizable language messages allow server owners to tailor the plugin’s output based on server language preferences.
    • Messages can be easily localized for different languages.

    Chat Logging:

    • Logs all chat messages, including player details, channel, content, and timestamp.
    • Useful for moderation, player behavior tracking, and troubleshooting.

Plugin FAQ – How do I use this .zip/.7z file I just purchased on my server?

• First, you want to unzip the file. You can do so by just double-clicking it to open, then drag the contents to the desired location (you may need to install an external unzipping software if you don’t already have one such as 7zip or winrar)
• Next you will find either a structure of folders or just the .cs file itself (it’s the actual plugin file itself).
• After that just install the .cs (plugin file) into your …/oxide/plugins/ folder where you will install plugins you ever need to.

Additionally, here’s a great video that easily covers adding a plugin to your server if you need! https://youtu.be/yWC_p97FhQA

• Installation is not included with any products on the site, however, if needed we may assist if you reach out to our support.

Currently all products on Lone.Design will be contained within a zipped file which is the .7z or .zip that you see. I believe windows 10 and up can unzip on its own without 3rd party tools, but in that case, if you’re unfamiliar with zipped files here are 2 programs I recommend to easily unzip zipped files.

Zipping/Unzipping Tools
Winrar https://www.rarlab.com (I used to use for years, but works great!)
7zip https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z2107-x64.exe (the one I use currently)
