Rust Halloween 2022 has arrived with a frightening twist! As a server owner, it’s essential to stay informed about the latest updates and events, so your players can have a thrilling experience. The Halloween events are now live, and they include an exciting candy hunt event that occurs every two in-game days. Players have three minutes to collect as many candies as they can, with the top three receiving special loot bags. These loot bags and candies can be opened for various rewards, from scrap to M249s. Even if players don’t make the podium, they can still upgrade their candies for better loot.
Portals
Mysterious portals have appeared throughout the game world. Rumors suggest that cultists or a Cobalt experiment gone wrong could be responsible for these portals. While not much is known about them, only a few brave players have entered and returned alive. Server owners can adjust the portal count using the following convar:
halloweendungeon.population– Adjusts the portal count on the server.

New Halloween Items
Three new Halloween-themed items have been added to the Rust store:
- Hockey Facemask: A creepy reskin of the Metal Facemask.
- Cultist Deer Torch: A reskin of the starter torch, believed to be dropped by cultists.
- Baseball Bat: A reskin of the mace melee weapon, perfect for a zombie apocalypse.
These items can be purchased from the Rust item store.
Build Your Own Monster: Frank is Back!
Players can now build their own pet monster by slaying scarecrows and mummies to collect body parts. By crafting a Frankenstein’s table and placing the collected body parts within it, players can awaken their pet monster. The monster will follow orders, defend players, and help them slay foes. Players can control their monster by pressing “P” or using the console command: bind X +pets.
Halloween Items
Last year’s Halloween items have returned to the Rust item store, including Skull Rock, Pumpkin Carving, Skull Trophy Pack, Skull Spike Pack, Mummy Underwear, Fogger 3000, Candle Pack, Cursed Cauldron, and Strobe Light. There are also many Halloween-themed skins available for purchase on the Rust Item Store.
